Reset the world safely
1
Create a backup
Create and verify a server backup. Download the current world if you may want to restore it later.
2
Stop the server
Wait until the console confirms a clean shutdown.
3
Identify every active world folder
Open
server.properties and note level-name. Plugin server software may store the Nether and End in related folders ending in _nether and _the_end.4
Remove or rename the world folders
Rename the active world folders to keep a temporary copy, or remove them only after confirming the backup. Do not remove plugin, mod, or configuration folders.
5
Choose an optional seed
Leave
level-seed empty for a random seed, or enter the seed for the new world. Changing this value does not alter terrain that already exists.6
Generate and test
Start the server and let it generate the new world. Join and confirm the world, Nether, End, and spawn are correct before removing temporary copies.
