Use Software to choose Java Edition. Use Versions to choose the Minecraft Java version the server runs.

Switch to Java Edition

1

Open the server

Sign in at panel.purpify.host and select the server you want to change.
2

Create a backup

Back up files and world data before changing the server edition or software.
3

Open Software

Go to Software and choose Minecraft Java Edition.
4

Apply the change

Follow the panel prompts, then wait for the software change to finish before starting the server.
Changing from Bedrock to Java does not convert a Bedrock world, behavior pack, or resource pack into a Java-compatible format.

Choose a Java version

1

Open Versions

Open the Java server in the game panel and go to Versions.
2

Select a version

Choose your preferred Minecraft Java version.
3

Check compatibility

Confirm that the server software, plugins, mods, modpack, and player clients support that version.
4

Start and verify

Start the server, watch the console for errors, and connect with a client on the selected version.

Software and version are different settings

If a plugin or mod stops working after a version change, install a release that supports the selected Java version or restore your backup.
