Use Purpify’s world installer for most Bedrock worlds. Upload your world file and the installer handles the installation for you. For a large world, use SFTP instead.

Before you begin

  • Keep an untouched copy of the original world.
  • Create a server backup.
  • Stop the Purpify server before replacing its current world.
  • Make sure the world supports the Minecraft version running on the server.

Install with the world installer

Open the world installer

Open your server in the Purpify panel and go to the world installer.

Upload the world

Select the upload option and choose the Bedrock world file from your device.

Wait for installation

Keep the page open until the installer reports that the world was installed successfully.

Start and verify

Start the server, watch the console for world-loading errors, and join. Confirm that your builds, inventory, and spawn point are present.
The world installer handles the required world placement and selection for you.

Upload a large world with SFTP

Large world uploads are more reliable over SFTP.
  1. Export or locate the complete Bedrock world folder.
  2. Confirm that the folder directly contains level.dat and a db directory.
  3. Stop the server and create a backup.
  4. Follow Manage files and SFTP to connect and upload the complete folder.
  5. Select the uploaded world for the server, then start it and check the console.
If you have a .mcworld file, you can open it as an archive and extract the world folder before transferring it. Do not upload an extra wrapper folder: level.dat must be directly inside the world folder.

If a new world appears

A newly generated world usually means the wrong world was selected or its files are nested one folder too deep.
  1. Stop the server.
  2. Confirm that the uploaded world folder directly contains level.dat.
  3. Select the uploaded world again.
  4. Start the server and check the console.
If the server cannot start after the upload, follow Troubleshoot a server that will not start.
