Record the source configuration
Before moving files, record:- Minecraft Java Edition or Minecraft Bedrock Edition
- Exact Minecraft version and server software
- Java mod loader and loader version, when used
- Installed plugins, mods, datapacks, or Bedrock add-ons
- Active world name and every related dimension folder
- Any special startup or installation requirements for the server software
Prepare the Purpify server
- Create the destination server and select the matching edition, software, and Minecraft version.
- Keep the Purpify server stopped while the import runs.
- Find the SFTP details for the server at your old provider. You need the old SFTP host, port, username, and password.
Import the server
1
Stop the source server
Warn players, perform a normal stop, and leave the source offline. Files copied while the source is running may contain an inconsistent world or player state.
2
Open Importer
Open the destination server in the Purpify game panel and select Importer.
3
Enter the old provider's SFTP details
Enter the SFTP host, port, username, and password supplied by your old hosting provider. Use the old server’s credentials, not the SFTP details shown by Purpify.
4
Start the import
Confirm the source details and start Importer. Keep both services available and do not start either Minecraft server while files are transferring.
5
Wait for completion
Wait until the panel reports that the import finished. Do not edit or replace destination files during the transfer.
6
Start and read the console
Start the Purpify server and watch the complete startup for missing files, incompatible software, or version errors.
Verify the migration
- Join with the new server address and port.
- Check player inventories, permissions, spawn, and every dimension.
- Test plugins, mods, add-ons, commands, and scheduled tasks.
- Update DNS only after the destination works through its direct address.
- Keep the source service offline but available until the final checks pass.
