# Create a server

> Purchase a Purpify Minecraft server, choose Java or Bedrock Edition, and open it in the game panel.

Purchase a server at [payments.purpify.host](https://payments.purpify.host), then choose Java Edition or Bedrock Edition during setup.

  <Step title="Open Purpify Billing">
    Go to [payments.purpify.host](https://payments.purpify.host) and sign in.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a server">
    Select the Minecraft hosting option and server resources you want.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose an edition">
    Select Minecraft Java Edition or Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the game panel">
    Go to [panel.purpify.host](https://panel.purpify.host). The new server appears on the **Servers** page after setup completes.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start the server">
    Select **Start** and wait until the status changes to running.
  </Step>

## Change an existing server's edition

Open the server in the game panel, go to **Software**, and select the edition you want.

  Create a backup first. Java and Bedrock server files are not interchangeable.
